Zen in Ireland

If you're curious to see what Zen meditation is like, go to a Beginners' Introduction at your nearest dojo. Here you can learn the basics of zazen: posture, breathing, and attitude of mind. Bring loose, comfortable clothing (tracksuit pants are ideal) and an open mind.

Zazen can be difficult for beginners because we are not used to the posture. It requires effort and patience, two virtues that we do not learn in our modern civilisation. But with regular practice, our troubles are calmed, attachments evaporate and fear fades away.

You can use the links on the left to find out about your nearest dojo. Beginners are also welcome on our retreats.
